CARRI - Center for Applied Research for Responsible Innovation
At the Center for Applied Research for Responsible Innovation (CARRI), doctoral candidates in business administration and economics, tourism research, business informatics and entrepreneurship develop solutions to shape the socio-ecological transformation and society in a sustainable way and to create new value creation strategies, innovative business models and social innovations and transfer them into practice. In doing so, they pursue interdisciplinary approaches and stand for responsible entrepreneurship.
The cross-university Doctoral Research Center CARRI is a joint scientific institution of the HM Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Nuremberg Institute of Technology. It was granted the right to award doctorates by the Bavarian Ministry of Science and the Arts on September 26, 2023.

Doing a doctorate at CARRI
At the cross-university Doctoral Research Center of the cooperating universities HM Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Nuremberg Institute of Technology, graduates of economics and related subjects can do their doctorate and obtain the academic degree Dr. rer. pol. CARRI is the first and currently the only Doctoral Research Center of Bavarian universities of applied sciences that has been granted the right to award doctorates in these fields.
At the CARRI Doctoral Research Center, doctoral candidates are supervised by professors with strong research skills from both universities and can take advantage of the wide range of subject areas and numerous support and networking structures at both universities. In consultation with the doctoral candidates, the Doctoral Research Center offers a special doctoral programme. For example, regular workshops on theories and methods are provided. In addition, the cooperating universities offer a general doctoral programme.
