My time at HM was great! I found all my classes interesting, and my professors encouraged everyone to join in and were always there to help. The staff at the International Office were also really friendly and supportive. I chose to come to Munich because I love German culture and wanted to experience life here. HM ended up being the perfect fit for my programme. I loved learning German, visiting the Christmas markets, and seeing Munich covered in snow. It was such an amazing experience!

Having been in "exile" in California for about 15 years, I greatly welcomed the opportunity to spend a semester in my home country at HM, teaching two courses on Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction. The students are well-prepared and highly motivated, pretty much in line with ours at Cal Poly. With excellent support from the International Office and the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, my stay so far has gone very well, and it will be difficult to leave Munich.

Before coming to HM, I spent a year at the Studienkolleg Coburg, which really helped me improve my German so I could keep up with lectures right from the start. I chose HM because I love Bavaria, and the university has a great reputation. I also really like Munich – it offers lots of job opportunities and tons of things to do in my free time, like hiking and skiing.

By all measures, Munich is a fantastic city to study engineering in: its proximity to such giants as BMW and Siemens is reflected in the overwhelmingly diverse technical backgrounds of the University's staff, and the city itself is a beautiful place to be in the summer. It's people are extremely warm hosts, eager to share their culture and language. And the English Garden must be the best public park in the EU.
