Adjunct lecturers at the HM

• deliver lectures. As part of their temporary teaching contract and in accordance with the study regulations, they organise lectures, seminars and tutorials independently and on their own responsibility.

• contribute their professional experience.

• are self-employed and work on a part-time basis (i.e. they are not employed by Hochschule München). They are permitted to teach at several universities simultaneously – for a total of up to 9 hours per week (each lasting 45 minutes) in Bavaria.

The requirements for a temporary teaching contract are a completed university degree, at least three years’ relevant professional experience and teaching aptitude.

Specialised lecturer at the HM

• provide our students with specialist knowledge, practical skills and expertise – through lectures, seminars and practical sessions.

• are (unlike lecturers) employed by the HM.

• fulfil a teaching commitment of at least 19 semester-week hours (SWS).

The requirements for a teaching post are a completed university degree, proof of teaching aptitude and at least three years’ full-time practical experience in the relevant subject (outside the higher education sector).

Research staff members at the HM

• are involved in teaching, support research and/or carry out research projects themselves.

• are employed (full-time or part-time, usually on a fixed-term contract).

• hold a master's degree or equivalent qualification, or are currently in the postdoctoral phase. You wish to further your academic qualifications in order to prepare for a leadership role, a professorship or a career in industry, business, the arts or culture.

They also publish and present their research findings, manage projects, expand their networks and much more.

The Graduate School at HM supports you before, during and after your doctorate, right through to preparing for a professorship at a University of Applied Sciences.

At HM, you can pursue a PhD in collaboration with a university – or at one of our seven doctoral centres. Each centre is home to at least 15 professors with a strong research background. The range of topics extends from Integrated Design and Construction to applied computer science to responsible innovation.
