HM’s portfolio is broad and diverse

And we focus especially on the following cross‑cutting themes:

Teaching

Academic, practice- and future-oriented

Students studying at HM today will be helping to shape the world of tomorrow. To prepare them for this role, HM combines an excellent university education with a strong focus on key global developments such as sustainability and internationalisation. Students benefit from lecturers with practical, hands-on experience and a vibrant campus environment that blends personal interaction with digital innovation.

Research

Practical, innovative, interdisciplinary

HM’s application-oriented research projects provide impetus for business and society alike. They address current challenges and make an innovative contribution to shaping a sustainable future. High-calibre research and development projects, carried out – among others – in five research institutes, characterise HM’s well-connected research landscape.

Transfer

Practical, collaborative, entrepreneurial

Munich is one of Europe’s leading centres for business and innovation. HM is committed to playing an active role in this dynamic ecosystem. To this end, we work closely with our partners from industry, society, politics and academia to address technological and societal challenges and create solutions that make a real difference. As one of the leading universities in the field of entrepreneurship, we see this as a key driver for innovation and future success.

Strategic partnerships

International, connected, influential

HM is part of international networks that promote exchange and strengthen our position as a leading University of Applied Sciences. Within the INUAS consortium, we work with Hochschule Campus Wien University of Applied Sciences and ZHAW Zurich on forward-looking topics relating to the quality of urban life. As a member of UAS7, we actively help shape internationalisation, quality assurance and our positioning in higher education policy, together with six other German universities of applied sciences.
