An appointment procedure usually takes at least 12 months. It begins with your application and ends, if applicable, with your appointment.
An Appointments Committee sets out the requirements for the professorship. The post is advertised – you can submit an application.
The selection panel invites shortlisted candidates to an interview.
Candidates from this group will be invited to attend two trial sessions.
The Appointments Committee then draws up a proposal for appointments, ranking the candidates. The HM’s governing bodies approve this proposal.
The candidate is then called forward.
