Courses in German - Registration
Incoming students should attend the first lesson and discuss with the lecturer whether it is possible to join the class, subject to availability.
The lecture timetables for German-language specialised courses in your degree programme are available on the respective department pages .
Correct Scientific Writing
During your studies, you will often be required to write papers as part of your assignments. The purpose of these papers is to demonstrate your understanding of the lecture’s main content. It is essential to clearly show your personal contribution to the paper, which requires proper use of citation rules.
At the beginning of each course, ask the lecturer about the specific citation rules that should be applied.
Additionally, you can attend the library’s free information session “Einführung in wissenschaftliches Arbeiten” (in German) at Lothstrasse 13. This session is offered multiple times each semester, and the dates are published on the library's website.
Academic honesty is a fundamental principle of scientific writing. Using someone else’s ideas without proper attribution is plagiarism. Intentional plagiarism – failing to reference sources to present another’s work as your own – can result in serious consequences, such as your paper being excluded from assessment and no credits being awarded for the course.
