Furthermore, they carry out an international teaching project of two lecture hours per week together with a HM professor.
The Fellowships include an honorarium for teaching and cover travel costs for the scholar and a monthly allowance for accommodation in Munich.

The HM Fellowship Programme call is announced once a year and has a form of a university-wide competition. For further information regarding the programme and conditions please contact the International Office.

Searching for affordable housing in Munich can be challenging due to the tight market and limited availability. For shorter stays, it’s often unnecessary to rent an apartment - a hotel room is usually sufficient. However, if you’re planning a longer stay and need an apartment, we recommend starting your search early, especially during Oktoberfest or major trade fairs.
When renting an apartment, you’ll typically be required to pay a security deposit, which will be refunded upon departure if no damages have occurred. Rent usually consists of a base rent plus additional costs, which may include electricity, gas, heating, waste disposal, janitorial services, and possibly internet and the broadcasting license fee.
Important information: you must register your residence if you stay longer than three months. This also applies to moves within the country. Registration must be done in person and no later than 14 days after moving in. If you have questions about the registration process, feel free to contact us.
For longer stays, the Staff Mobility Team is available to assist you with accommodation-related questions.
Please note that finding suitable housing can take considerable time. As a result, we may forward you offers that do not meet all your preferences. We recommend staying flexible, having realistic expectations regarding pricing, and carefully reviewing all available options.
For special hotel offers, you’re also welcome to contact us directly.
