The strategic partnership known as theINUAS network – comprising HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, FH Campus Wien, and ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences – was established in 2011. Together, the INUAS universities rank among the largest and most influential institutions in applied teaching and research. Their collaboration on the theme of "Urban and Regional Quality of Life" aims to strengthen all three locations as internationally significant hubs for both business and academia.
The strategic partnership between the universities focuses on the following key objectives:
• Developing joint projects on issues concerning urban and regional quality of life, sustainability, resource conservation, and theri ecological, economic, and social impact.
• Providing insights into current topics such as technologies, social innovations, health, and development of urban spaces
• Supporting internationally oriented university projects
• Generating new ideas for sustainable enhancement of quality of life through research and innovative teaching
• Consolidating expertise and collaboratively addressing pressing issues

The activities and initiatives of the strategic partnership focus on the following key areas:
• Providing high-quality, practice-oriented teaching and applied research
• Establishing joint teaching, learning, and research initiatives
• Facilitating university-wide cooperation and exchange on administrative and organizational structures
• Engaging with key stakeholders in the respective metropolitan regions
The INUAS (International Network of Universities of Applied Sciences) was established in Vienna in 2011 as an institutional collaboration between three major universities of applied sciences: HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, FH Campus Wien, and Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).
• FH Campus Wien: As Austria’s largest university of applied sciences, FH Campus Wien has over 7,000 students and offers more than 60 Bachelor's and Master's degree programs across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including social sciences, technology, and business. Its extensive network includes partnerships with international universities, industrial companies, businesses, associations, and public institutions.
• ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences: With approximately 14,000 students, ZHAW is one of Switzerland’s leading universities of applied sciences. It emphasizes interdisciplinary learning and diversity, offering a wide range of programs in engineering, health, social work, and management. ZHAW is well-connected globally, collaborating with universities, companies, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.
Located in German-speaking metropolitan regions, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich are not only geographically and culturally close, but they also share a global reputation for exceptional quality of life and economic strength. Together, these three universities stand among the most prominent institutions for applied teaching and research in their respective countries.
