Information on the academic calendar at our partner universities
As the academic calendar in Germany does not coincide with those in most other countries around the world, there may be an overlap, particularly at the start of an exchange semester.
Here is an overview of the academic calendar at our partner universities (in German):
The exact dates of the semesters, which may vary slightly from year to year, can be found on the websites of the respective partner universities.

| Winter semester | As a rule, the "winter semester" (often called "fall term" or "autumn term") starts earlier at our partner universities than it does in Munich. However, any overlap can be managed thanks to the semester break at HM. You will then start your semester abroad during the HM semester break. |
| Summer semester | As a rule, the "summer semester" (often called "spring term") at our partner universities also starts earlier than in Munich, usually between early January and early February. We strongly advise you to be present at the partner university at the start of the term so as not to miss any orientation sessions or course registration. This means you should consider whether and how you can reschedule or retake exams at HM, or whether you can plan the timing of your internship accordingly.
