Information on visa requirements for your stay abroad
As an EU citizen, you do not need a visa to stay in another EU member state.
If you are not an EU citizen or are planning to stay in a non-EU country (e.g. Turkey, the USA), please check with the relevant embassy or diplomatic mission well in advance to find out about the visa requirements for your destination country. Visa applications must be submitted directly to the relevant diplomatic mission (embassy or consulate in Germany) and may take some time to process.
If you plan to study or do an internship abroad, it’s important to sort out your residence and work permits. Before applying, make sure you understand the rules on living and working in the country you’ve chosen.
