Karlstraße campus
The Campus at Karlstraße is located in Munich's museum district, near to Karlsplatz (Stachus) in the centre of town. It houses the departments of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geoinformatics in a historic building and architectural highlight from the 1950s. The listed building is one of the few examples of consistently modern architecture from when Munich was rebuilt after World War II. Around 2,050 students are taught in the three departments.

Arrival by public transport
As parking in the vicinity of HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences is limited, we recommend the use of public transport. You can reach the University sites from München Hauptbahnhof (central station) using the following services:
Karlstraße campus (dept. 01, 02, 08)
Take the tram lines 27/28 (Scheidplatz) to the stop "Ottostraße" or take tram 19 (St.-Veit-Straße) to the stop "Lenbachplatz".
Alternatively, take one of the following trains to the stop "Karlsplatz (Stachus)": U4 (Arabellapark), U5 (Neuperlach Süd), trams 20/21/29 (Karlsplatz (Stachus)), 16/18 (St. Emmeram) or 17 (Schwanseestraße) and main S-Bahn line.

How to get from airport to central station
At the airport, follow the guidance system to the S-Bahn platform.
Take either the S1 or the S8. Trains depart every 10 minutes. Both lines take around 45 minutes to Central Station.
Tickets (both cost around 10 €):
- Airport-City Day Ticket: Valid for the entire MVV network (S-Bahn, regional trains, subway, buses and trams) for one day until 6 am the following day.
- Single Ticket (4 Zones and more): Valid for the entire MVV network (see above), changes and trip interruptions allowed, no return or round trips allowed, maximum travel time of 4 hours.

At the airport, follow the guidance system.
Buses depart at:
- Terminal 2
- Terminal 1 (Modul A)
- München Airport Center (MAC) and Terminal 1 (Modul D).
Buses depart every 20 minutes. Travel time to Central Station: 45 to 60 minutes.
Cost:
One-way tickets cost around 10 €, return tickets around 17 €.
Pay the bus driver with cash.
At the airport, follow the guidance system.
Taxis depart at:
- Terminal 1 (Level E04 directly in front of the modules A-E)
- Terminal 2 (north of Level E03 and E04)
- München Airport Center (north of Level E03).
Travel time: ca. 30-45 min (up to one hour and more if there is traffic)
