International Club
Join the I-Club at Hochschule München: fun events, trips and weekly Get2Gethers for students from around the world.
The International Club (I-Club) of Hochschule München is the international meeting point for students from Munich and all over the world. It is organized by a passionate group of students from different departments of HM and offers a variety of events, activities, including day and weekend trips. The I-Club also organises a weekly „Stammtisch“ (Get2Gether) for intercultural exchange.
If you’re an international student you will automatically join our group as soon as you’re here.
As we’re financially supported by the university most of the costs for the event will be covered by the club.
We’re looking forward to meeting you in Munich and having you join us on our adventures!
As an international exchange student, you will automatically be invited via email to join our WhatsApp community before your stay in Munich.
Additionally, we will introduce you to the club and invite you to join our community again during the Orientation Days at Hochschule München.

The I-Club organizes a great variety of weekly activities. Find out more about each of them:
🌟 Events:
The weekly highlight of the International Club – every Saturday during the semester. As the club covers most of the costs, the events are very affordable.
Typical summer events:
- Rafting
- Allianz Arena tour
- The Zugspitze - the top of Germany
- Canyoning
Typical winter events:
- Bavarian brunch
- Ice skating
- Castle Neuschwanstein
- Christmas market
🏔 Weekend trips:
Every semester, we organise a fun 2–3-day cottage weekend with hiking in the Alps.
Details are always posted a few weeks in advance, so you can plan ahead and make sure you don’t miss out.
🍹 Get2gethers:
For our get2gethers, we meet every week at a different bar in Munich. This is the perfect chance for you to get to know other international and German students.
🥾 Hikes:
Join us on our hikes! We start each semester with easy hikes and gradually increase the difficulty over the semester, so everyone can keep up.
Our hikes are very popular during summer semester and the first half of the winter semester. The routes are always carefully selected by our experienced tutors who love hiking themselves.
If you enjoy the first hikes with us together during the semester you definitely shouldn't miss our cottage weekend trip in the Alps!
🥘 Further activities:
In addition to everything described above, we often host further fun activites directly at Hochschule München or at other locations. Some examples are listed below:
- Potluck dinner - every student brings a dish from their home country to share
- Bouldering
- Baking cookies
- Game & karaoke nights
If you’re an international student and will be in Munich for the full duration of your studies, you can also join the International Club as a tutor and help us organise events and promote intercultural exchange.
Based on your interests and preferences, we’ll match you with the right tasks, for example:
- Organising events or get2gethers
- Marketing
- Internal positions: Head of Finance, Head of Events...

HM offers a Welcome Service for international students: Every semester HM students (our "mentors") team up to run our Welcome Service to ensure a smooth transition to life in Munich and at HM. They’ll welcome “their” exchange students in person at the airport or the train station and help them get settled in, including dealing with German paperwork, choosing courses, buying a student ticket or a German SIM card. Over the course of the semester, they share useful information, tips, suggestions – or sometimes simply lend a friendly ear.
