Visiting Staff
Further Information

International Staff Exchange
Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences (HM) warmly welcomes administrative staff from our European partner universities. As part of the ERASMUS+ Mobility for Training (STT) programme, you can visit Munich and engage in professional exchanges with colleagues from HM.
The contributions of our international guests are a valuable part of our university’s internationalisation engagement.
Our team is here to assist you with organisational and administrative matters and to support you throughout your stay in Germany and Munich.
You’ll find further information in the sections below.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us.
To ensure an engaging and well-organised visit programme, please submit your application at least two months prior to your planned stay.
Finding a contact person
We recommend identifying a contact person (a mentor) at HM, who can support you during your stay and whose area of responsibility aligns with professional field. Applications without a suitable match will likely be rejected.
If you have not yet found a contact person, please send us your request by email (contact details can be found at the bottom of this page) and include the following information:
- Your name, home institution, and position
- Proposed dates of your stay (at least 2 days)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Brief description of your motivation and and intended outcome
If you have already contacted someone at HM, who works in a relevant field, please provide us with their details.
Limitations and Recommendations
Please note that due to limited capacity, individual staff exchanges can only seldom be offered. We therefore recommend participating in our International Staff Week (details below).
ERASMUS+ Requirements
To participate in the ERASMUS+ Staff Mobility for Training (STT), an ERASMUS+ Mobility agreement is required; however an Inter-Institutional Agreement is not necessary. Your home university will provide the necessary documents for ERASMUS+ funding.
Upon request, we can issue an invitation letter in advance and a confirmation of stay after the training completion.
Costs and Support
HM is generally unable to cover the costs of your stay. However, we offer access to our work infrastructure and support with organisational and administrative matters.
The International Office at HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences organises an International Staff Week, primarily aimed at staff members from our partner universities.
The event offers a varied programme that supports networking between partner institution, provides practical insights into the work at HM, and creates a platform for international exchange among.
Details about the next International Staff Week will be announced in due time. In the meantime, we invite you to take a look at the programme from previous years:
For shorter stays, it is often not necessary to rent an apartment—a hotel room is usually sufficient. However, if you plan to stay longer and need an apartment, we recommend starting your search early, especially during Oktoberfest or major trade fairs.
For extended stays, the International Office team is available to assist you with accommodation-related questions. Please note that finding suitable housing can be time-consuming. As a result, we may forward you offers that do not fully meet all your preferences.
We recommend staying flexible, having realistic expectations regarding prices, and carefully considering all available options.
