Participation Put to the Test

The project specifically involves social groups that have been underrepresented in research to date and recruits new participants for transformation processes. It investigates the roles that civil society organizations play and the opportunities and challenges that arise from differing objectives and expectations—particularly with regard to resilient agriculture, sustainable food systems, and the replacement of fossil fuels.

The goal is to test and evaluate new methods and practical approaches in order to permanently embed participation in departmental research. Participating institutions include the research agencies of the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Tourism—the Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture and the Technology and Promotion Center for Renewable Raw Materials. HM:UniverCity is implementing the process in cooperation with the Faculty of Technical Systems, Processes, and Communication and the Fraunhofer IAO.
