Over 100 enthusiastic people at the Sustainability Barcamp in a wonderful venue.

At the Langes Haus of the Art and Nature Foundation in Nantesbuch. The topics we are exploring are as diverse as the Oberland region itself: networking amongst active members, turning waste into raw materials, social sustainability and inclusion, Transformation for future generations, the ‘new normal’ – sustainability as a standard way of life, making TIZIO and HM more sustainable, housing sufficiency – how do we communicate this? and much more.
The sessions were buzzing with creativity. ‘Real-world laboratories’ was the topic we facilitated. A wonderful example quickly emerged: how can we make it possible for children to walk to primary school (rather than being driven by their parents)? The group needed very little input; they had swiftly drawn up a list of stakeholders and devised a starting point: the parents should experience the journey to school for themselves, on foot. Through the rest of the process, we explored key principles of a real-world laboratory.
Many thanks to Beate Mader and Stefan Drexlmeier for their wonderful facilitation of the Barcamp and for the fascinating opening session on the state of the agricultural sector.
