Reflecting on one’s social position
On 24 February 2026, a workshop on the topic ‘Where do women* stand in society?’ took place at the Lothstraße site as part of the BayernMentoring programme. The speaker, Sandra Lüders, drew on perspectives from activism, education and the social sciences, enabling participants to engage critically with feminist perspectives.
Discussion on equality and structures
The focus was on personal positioning: the participants reflected on their own experiences, analysed common statements about feminism and discussed social power relations. A particularly striking moment occurred during an association exercise, when a student remarked that her identity as a woman was ever-present. A theoretical overview highlighted that, whilst legal equality between men and women exists, real equality has still not been achieved in many areas. Examples from the fields of healthcare, politics, the labour market and sexual self-determination illustrated existing structural inequalities.
Empowerment and opportunities for action
Finally, an empowerment exercise featuring practical examples helped participants to take action in their everyday lives. The workshop made it clear that equality still requires active engagement and feminist perspectives.
