New TalentE3 members are off to a flying start

“Make the most of this opportunity to build a network – ideally starting this very evening”: With these words, HM’s Vice-President for Knowledge Transfer, Prof. Dr. Thomas Stumpp, addressed the new cohort of students selected for HM’s own support programme for gifted and talented students. Under the slogan “TalentE³ – Discover. Develop. Flourish.” the participants gain access to workshops, training sessions and seminars over the course of several semesters. Each summer semester, an HM committee selects 25 students with a bachelor's degree and 25 students with a master's degree for the programme – regardless of their academic background, social background, department or subject area.

Networking and growing
together The launch of the ninth Bachelor’s and seventh Master’s cohorts began with an informal get-together for the students. During an ice-breaker session, initial conversations took place among the programme participants. The aim was to discover common ground, shared approaches or expectations. “I want to work on my weaknesses whilst at the same time identifying my strengths,” said HM student and participant Julia Wagner. The aspect of personal and professional development was also a key focus for the students: “I expect the programme to help me expand my personal network. I’d also like to gain personal insights into leadership qualities and leadership skills,” emphasised Jonas Gebauer, a participant in the master's degree cohort. Whilst this group focuses on “leadership development”, the Bachelor’s students are delving deeper into entrepreneurial thinking and practice.
