The two teams, AirSync and MayNova, took first and second place in this year’s European StartForFuture Learn competition. This means that two student teams have successfully come out on top in an international innovation and entrepreneurship competition.
The ‘Real Project Digitalisation’ course forms part of Hochschule München’s interdisciplinary ‘Real Projects’ approach. The aim is to expose students to real-world business and digital challenges at an early stage. This semester, the thematic focus was on the aviation industry. Together with the renowned practice partner Lufthansa Consulting, the teams developed practically-oriented solutions to current digitalisation issues in this dynamic and demanding sector. Managing Consultant Felix Piper and Consultant Lucas Nunner contributed valuable expert insights and experience gained from real-world consultancy projects.
The course was supervised by Prof. Dr Marlen Jurisch (Department of Computer Science and Mathematics), Prof. Dr Sven Sterzenbach (Department of Tourism) and Prof. Dr Bernhard Wach (HM Business School). They were delighted with the outcome: “The success of AirSync and MayNova impressively demonstrates the potential that arises when students work on real-world challenges, think entrepreneurially and make targeted use of digital tools. Both teams impressed with their creativity, professionalism and great commitment.”
StartForFuture Learn provides the ideal framework for this approach. Participating teams receive guidance, coaching and feedback as they develop their ideas within a structured, practice-oriented entrepreneurship programme. At the same time, the competition facilitates exchange with international teams and partners at European level.
This double success highlights the importance of practically-oriented teaching methods at Hochschule München. Real Project Digitalisation combines academically sound teaching with specific innovation tasks from the business world. Students not only learn about methods of digitalisation and business model development, but also apply them directly to real-world problems.
HM Business School warmly congratulates both teams on this outstanding achievement.
