HOKO celebrates its 30th anniversary
Students will meet around 300 companies at the 2026 University Careers Fair
03/11/2026
With around 15,000 visitors, HOKO – HM’s university career fair – is one of the largest career fairs in Germany. To mark its 30th anniversary, the Rote Würfel will once again become a meeting place for students, companies and start-ups from 3 to 4 November 2026. Around 300 exhibitors will offer visitors the chance to meet potential employers, find out about career prospects and make initial contacts to kick-start their careers.
Where new opportunities arise
At the opening, patron Magdalena Rogl emphasised the opportunities that events such as HOKO can open up. The author and international keynote speaker reflected on her own career path: “The fact that I was able to build a career without A-levels or a university degree was mainly down to the fact that there were people who opened doors for me and gave me opportunities.” Such opportunities do not arise solely in the lecture theatre or at a desk, but also at events such as HOKO, which bring people together and open up new perspectives.
In her opening speech, HM President Sonja Munz took up this year’s fair motto, ‘Level up your future’. For her, this conveyed two positive messages: that young people believe in the future and are ready to help shape it themselves.
As every year, the fair was organised entirely by students. The core team consisted of 26 members, supported by around 250 volunteers during the set-up and throughout the event. Together, they ensured that the HOKO once again ran smoothly.
Support for startinga career
Whether it’s a working student position, a practical semester or a partner company for a final-year dissertation: HOKO offers students a wide range of opportunities to engage with potential employers. The fair is complemented by a framework programme featuring CV checks, personalised career advice and free application photos.
