This online course is aimed at doctoral candidates at Hochschule München (primarily CARRI members) who wish to gain a solid grounding in using MAXQDA.
6 Oct 2026 - 27 Oct 2026
Contents
MAXQDA is a leading software package for qualitative and mixed-methods data analysis (QDA). In this two-day workshop, you will be introduced to the software’s key features relevant to your projects. You will learn the basics of the software (data import, tools for text exploration, working with codes and memos) as well as a wide range of analysis options: word-based, code-based, AI-supported, visual and mixed-methods analysis options.
In addition, MAXQDA offers a number of advanced features for refining coding systems and coding decisions (e.g. Creative Coding, Smart Coding), as well as functions for report generation and documentation, and for supporting teamwork.
There will be a needs assessment beforehand so that the content can be tailored to your requirements.
Target audience
The workshop is primarily aimed at doctoral candidates from the CARRI Doctoral Research Center. All other HM doctoral candidates are also very welcome to attend the course. Please note, however, that should there be a shortage of places on the course, CARRI members will be given priority.
