How does it feel (to be such a freak)?
A mental health evening featuring stories from the world of psychiatry and songs by Bob Dylan
15 Jan 2027 17:30 - 20:00
It all began with the songs of Bob Dylan. This was followed by experiences as a psychiatric patient, a carer and a recovery coach. Dr Benjamin Drechsel reads excerpts from 20 years of experience in psychiatry and offers a perspective that is often under-represented in the mental health discourse: that of the person affected. This is a goal that the master's degree in Mental Health (MMH) also pursues, by seeking to embed the perspective of those affected more firmly within psychosocial care.
Jörg Ullrich accompanies him on the guitar with his own interpretations of Bob Dylan songs. Both the lyrics and the music explore the question that also characterises Dylan’s work: ‘How does it feel?’ – and thus nothing less than the connection between mental health, art and the realities of life.
The Centre for Continuing Education and the master's degree in Mental Health (MMH) at Hochschule München cordially invite you to an insightful evening that sheds light on a serious topic in a very special way.
