Professor of: Applied Cybersecurity

I’m from Heilbronn; after spending a long time in the USA, I’ve been living in and around Munich for quite some time now.

Previously, I worked as a Senior Scientist and Project Manager in the Product Safety and Industrial Security Department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security (AISEC) in Garching, near Munich.

... and my motivation for teaching there:

Security – the digitalisation of the economy and society continues to advance, and the rapidly changing security requirements must be taken into account right from the start. Working alongside students to continually and critically examine existing and new technologies, processes and, ultimately, ourselves as human beings is a very rewarding task.

Why choose HM?

As a university of applied sciences with a particularly broad range of disciplines, HM offers many potential opportunities for collaboration with colleagues from other subject areas, which is very much in line with my interdisciplinary approach to applied cyber security. The respectful way in which I have been treated, from the very earliest stages of the appointment procedure right up to the present day, reminds me every day that I made the right decision in choosing HM.
