Professor of: Theory-Practice Transfer and Social Entrepreneurship at the Department of Applied Social Sciences
I’m from the south of Munich, but I’ve also lived in Spain and Canada.
Previously, I worked as a Professor at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt; before that, I was a visiting professor at the University of Kassel and spent several years in the state capital, Munich.

... and my motivation for teaching there:
Practical innovation – that is, shaping transformations in the fields of social work and education through participation and co-creation, and adapting these to meet the needs of a diverse society – is a central aspect of my expertise. As part of the University and the Department of Applied Social Sciences, I aim to forge new practical alliances and create spaces for dialogue with practitioners and civil society actors through research, teaching and knowledge transfers. Students can acquire key skills through the practical application of theory and develop strategies to address key societal challenges.
My highlight of the year
The support I have received from my many new colleagues at the department and within the Faculty Group for Transfer alone, as well as the interesting exchanges and collaboration with the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship and HM:UniverCity, are the highlights of my start at HM.
This winter semester sees the launch of two projects that promise to be highlights of my first year at the HM: our series of events on the development of the HUB for Practical Innovation and Transfers, and my new BMBF-funded research and practice development project, FEMPower, which, in collaboration with educational practitioners and migrant self-help organisations, focuses on successful training pathways for girls and women with a refugee background.
