I am from Mühlheim am Main (Rhine-Main region); I completed my studies and my doctorate at TU Darmstadt.

Previously, I worked as a development engineer specialising in fluid mechanics and process engineering at the fan and motor manufacturer ebm-papst in Landshut, as well as at Knorr-Bremse in Munich.

In a word: forward-looking.

Fluid mechanics and aerodynamics are particularly close to my heart because so many technical applications in the fields of the energy transition and mobility are linked to them. As fluid mechanics is a rather labour-intensive fundamental subject, I am keen to explain the physical principles as clearly as possible, whilst ensuring they are accurate.

Why choose HM?

Right from the application stage, HM made me feel welcome here. Although HM is a large university, this isn’t noticeable in the small courses. Here, I can explain the subject matter effectively and, for example, take the course to the lab at short notice to demonstrate how the theory applies in practice.

My highlight of the year

Moving from Regensburg to Munich, which was made all the better by meeting some brilliant new people, friends and colleagues – even though I do miss Regensburg a bit.

My leisure tip

Getting stuck into the kitchen and cooking yourself – that way, it tastes just the way you like it, and the dish gets a little bit better or a little bit different every time. My culinary highlight over the last few weeks: dumplings with celery and peanuts, seasoned with Szechuan pepper.
