New & Appointed
Name: Martin Vielhauer
Professor of: Building Design
I’m from: Munich
Previously, I worked as: I am a freelance consultant specialising in technical equipment and the Managing Director of TEG SV. I founded this company myself. Before that, I was branch manager and head of the technical equipment division at OBERMEYER (one of the largest full-service planning contractors in Germany). I am also a DGA-Bau dispute resolver and work as a mediator.
My area of expertise in a word
... and my motivation for teaching there:
Building services engineering – I’ve been working in this field for over 20 years. Heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, energy efficiency, and the practical application of renewable energy have always fascinated me. Through my involvement in numerous large-scale TA projects, I’ve also had the opportunity to gain a wealth of experience, which I now wish to pass on. Above all, I want to show students how to manage projects effectively and cost-efficiently, and how to improve collaboration between the various specialist trades. That is why I also teach business administration on the HM master's degree programme in Building Services Engineering.
My highlight of the year
The year is still in its early stages, but we’ve just started looking at AI as part of our degree course, which I find really fascinating.
My leisure tip
Munich itself is a great place to visit.
