... and my motivation for teaching there:

Lasers are the universal tool.
Since completing my studies, I have been fascinated by photonics in general and lasers in particular, and I would like to share this fascination with others. Whether in quantum computing, high-precision timekeeping, the detection of gravitational waves or in materials processing: lasers are now used everywhere. I would like to deepen my enthusiasm for specialised laser systems and their application in materials processing through research at the HM, and to pass this on through teaching.

Why choose HM?

Research professorships make it possible to link research and teaching directly, whether or not they are industry-related, so that students can always keep abreast of the latest developments. That is something I personally found lacking during my basic studies.

My highlight of the year

I find it difficult to single out one particular highlight. 2025 has been a very eventful year so far, both personally and professionally. One of the highlights was definitely my appointment as a research professor at HM.
