PhD Meet-up
HM doctoral candidates meet regularly for informal discussions, organised by doctoral candidates for doctoral candidates.
The PhD-MeetUp@17 takes place once a month, on the 17th at 5 pm. The exact meeting point will be announced in advance in the doctoral candidates’ WhatsApp group (see below), or you can get in touch with the organisers.
The Morning Coffee Meetup also takes place once a month from 8.30 am to 9.00 am at the Lothstraße campus. Let’s start the day together with coffee, biscuits and a nice chat.

WhatsApp group for HM doctoral candidates
The easiest way to chat with one another, share knowledge and experiences, arrange spontaneous meet-ups and pass on important information at short notice is via a messaging app. That’s why some HM doctoral candidates have set up a WhatsApp group. If you’re interested in joining the WhatsApp group, please get in touch with Elisa Sanchez or Sabrina Kern.
Virtual co-working for doctoral candidates
1¾ hours dedicated solely to working on your PhD thesis: Every Friday from 09:15 to 11:00, you’ll have the opportunity to meet up virtually, get in the right frame of mind for the work you’ve planned, and then work on your own. During the collaborative working session, you can easily ask any questions about your doctorate via chat at any time.
Anyone who’s interested can simply join via the Zoom link below, whether or not they’ve registered in advance. Doctoral candidates from other universities are also very welcome.
