Gain international experience whilst studying for your doctorate at the HM through teaching, professional development or research placements abroad, as well as by attending international conferences.
Stays abroad help doctoral candidates to build an international network, acquire intercultural skills and prepare for the globalised labour market. Commercial enterprises increasingly expect applicants to have international experience.
Our Graduate School would therefore like to encourage all doctoral candidates to include a temporary stay abroad as part of their research period at HM and to take part in international conferences.
There are a wide range of funding schemes available for this purpose, offering financial support depending on the nature of the stay.
