Kita Herzerl Nursery, Munich
Childcare for students and staff
At the Lothstraße campus, the opening of the Kita Herzerl nursery marked another milestone for Hochschule München in terms of helping students balance their studies, work and family responsibilities. The short distances between the place of studies or work and the childcare facility give both parents and children greater peace of mind and make everyday life easier.
In collaboration with the Deutsches Herzzentrum (German Heart Centre), this major project – the construction of an in-house nursery – was successfully completed and opened in September 2013. The facility is run by the Studentische Eltern-Kind-Initiative e.V. (Student Parent-Child Initiative), an association affiliated with the Hochschule München. The nursery offers ample space for a total of 76 children of students and staff at Hochschule München and the German Heart Centre. Children aged 1–6 are cared for in a total of 5 groups.
Students and staff can register for a nursery place following the birth of their child(ren).
Registrations from students are accepted directly by the Munich Student Union. You have the option to register online.
Staff can use the registration form (please note that this document is only available in German) at the Family Office for Students to be placed on the waiting list for the crèche and nursery.
Important notes:
Children are only admitted from the ageofone. Furthermore, only children from the Munich city area can be admitted. The transition from crèche to nursery is not automatic but requires a new application. Staff of Hochschule München should submit their application in good time to the Family Office for Students, and students should apply directly via the Studierendenwerk’s online form. This also applies to the mixed-age group.
