Strategic Advancement Office (HE)
The Strategic Advancement Office is a staff unit within the President’s Office and reports directly to the President. It advises university leadership, prepares decisions, and coordinates committee processes. The HE team supports the development and implementation of university-wide strategies and concepts.

Our responsibilities
- Designing and implementing strategic management tools such as university development planning or the university contract (Hochschulvertrag) between HM and the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts (StMWK), along with the required participation processes and workshop frameworks
- Developing appropriate measures and projects to implement the strategic goals defined in these processes
- Identifying relevant third-party grant programmes (BMFTR, StMWK, DAAD, Stifterverband, and others), and managing the proposal and application process, in order to secure funding for the implementation of the respective projects and measures
- If applicable, HE also takes the lead in managing the resulting projects
Furthermore, the Strategic Advancement Office hosts the university’s Gender & Diversity and Sustainability officers and coordinates the related institution-wide activities
Close collaboration with stakeholders in the faculties, the administration, and units such as HM’s Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE), the Continuing Education Center, or the (university) women’s representatives (Hochschulfrauenbeauftragten) is essential for all these tasks.
