Quality Development and Digitalisation (QED) Department
The Quality Development and Digitalisation (QED) Department, established on 1 October 2024 at Hochschule München, aims to support, improve and future-proof processes, data and projects across the university.
Our mission
We provide support and advice to all departments of the university in:
- Project Management
- Process Management
- Data management
- Digitalisation
The guiding principle here is that digital tools are used whenever they simplify processes, make them more efficient and reduce errors.
Our topics
Supporting university-wide projects is our core competence. We provide assistance at the start of a project and throughout its implementation, identify blind spots and break down complex tasks into manageable sub-projects.
We provide templates for staff members and run practical workshops. We encourage networking with relevant stakeholders.
We analyse existing workflows and work with the subject areas to develop more efficient, transparent and flexible processes. The aim is to make working, researching and studying easier through simple and practically-oriented administrative processes.
In doing so, we examine where steps can be streamlined: we eliminate anything that is not needed – and optimise the rest. The methods and tools used depend on the specific process and the needs of those involved.
To enable well-informed decisions, we process data, link relevant sources and produce insightful reports and analyses.
In doing so, we pay close attention to data quality, consistency and data protection. We provide advice on data sources, analytical methods and the scope of the analysis – for both quantitative and qualitative data.
We view digitalisation as targeted support for work, teaching and administrative processes. We select tools that are suited to each process and support their implementation.
In this way, we enable modern, intuitive and efficient ways of working – tailored to the needs of everyone involved.
