HM Summer School – a great option for HM students
Our summer school Engineering for Sustainability will take place in Munich from 5 July to 6 August 2027. The programme offers a variety of courses for engineering students, led by professors of Hochschule München in collaboration with colleagues of our partner universities.
Gain international experience – right here at HM
Students of Hochschule München benefit not only from completing a demanding study programme together with international students. They also experience enriching intercultural exchange within an international group – a valuable opportunity to discover common ground, understand differences, and gain new perspectives.
The ECTS credits earned may be recognised subject to prior agreement with the relevant examinations office.
A varied programme of accompanying activities rounds off the experience. Planned highlights include joint excursions in Munich and the surrounding region, visits to Bavarian companies, and a range of social events.

Financial support
HM students are encouraged to apply for the international Summer School. A limited number of places are supported through university funding, covering the main participation costs. Students are asked to contribute only a small personal share of €50.00

"The HM Summer School was a fantastic experience. During the first two weeks, I attended the Control Engineering course. There, we were able to apply the theoretical concepts directly in the laboratory, implement various control techniques on real systems, and put what we had learned into practice straight away. I then took part in the Sustainable Engineering and Mobility course. What I found particularly interesting were the lectures on the current development of renewable energy in Germany and the United States, as well as the challenges of building a sustainable future.
One of the highlights of the programme was the excursion to the power plant Walchensee. It was impressive to see that a hydropower plant in Bavaria is still making an important contribution to sustainable energy generation more than 100 years after it was first commissioned. Studying alongside international students from many different countries made the discussions and exchange of ideas especially enriching, offering a wide range of perspectives.
The Summer School further strengthened my interest in engineering and technology. I look forward to deepening my knowledge through even more advanced engineering courses and, in the future, making my own contribution to innovative and sustainable technologies."
