There are currently around 800 privately funded chairs at universities across Germany. Companies are the main sources of funding. However, associations, foundations and individuals can also support education. In addition to endowed professorships, HM also offers the opportunity to support academic training by research associates.

At Hochschule München, endowed professorships are currently in place in three departments. For example, thanks to the generous support of the Bayerischer Bauindustrieverband (Bavarian Construction Industry Association), a post has been established in the field of ‘Digitalisation in Construction’. This will enable the university to expand its teaching of digital methods, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), for future graduates in line with the requirements of the construction industry.
