Designing spaces for the campus of the future

  • Involving students in the design of the space to encourage student participation
  • Find out how students, lecturers and staff members would like to use the space
  • Find out which items of furniture they would like

  • A total of 199 people took part in the survey.
  • The issue is considered important.
  • Purpose of the room:
    • A refuge from external stimuli (n = 101)
    • for general relaxation (n = 92)
    • used for devotions or prayer (n = 77)
  • It is important to raise awareness of the room, as many people (n = 88) had not previously heard of the quiet room on the Pasing Campus
  • Key equipment:
    • Equipment designed to eliminate sources of noise
    • comfortable seating or lounging options
    • a room divider
