Homecoming
restart – welcome back
To make it easier for students to return to, or even begin, on-campus study after a long period of absence, the Ministry of Science has launched the ‘restart – welcome back’ initiative.
The project at Hochschule München is called ‘HoMecoming’. Its aim is to revitalise university and student union life and to foster social connections amongst students – alongside academic exchange. Activities that characterised university life before the pandemic began will, where possible, be transferred to a hybrid campus.
As part of Homecoming, the following initiatives and events were organised:
- Provision of technical equipment to all 14 student representations and the student representation to enable them to run hybrid events
- University-wide ‘Student Representation Day’, aimed particularly at first-year students
- Online introductory event organised by the student representation (StuVe)
- Production of a StuVe welcome video for first-year students
- Experiential learning activities at the start of the semester on the Social Innovation Management degree programme
HoMecoming is an initiative of the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education.
