Online application
Applications must be submitted via the application portal provided by Hochschule München and can be completed online on the website during the application period.
In order to take part in the selection procedure, you must submit your online application, together with the required documents, via your application portal to Hochschule München by the application deadline (please note any exceptions under ‘Application deadlines & dates’ ).
The required documents will be displayed on the application portal depending on your individual circumstances.
Admission procedures for NC degree programmes
Restricted admission is revised annually in accordance with the university’s statutes and, based on past experience, is not finalised until April of each year. You can find the information sheet on admission procedures at Hochschule München on the online application page, which contains all the necessary details regarding admission to bachelor's degree programmes. The grade point average required to secure a place is not determined in advance, but depends on the number of applications and available capacity. It is therefore not possible to provide any information in advance regarding your chances of admission.
You can view the restricted admissions for bachelor degree programmes from previous admission rounds. However, this overview does not indicate your chances of admission in this year’s round.
Notices of admission and rejection
Please note that there may occasionally be discrepancies from this description. For further details, please refer to your admission letter and the information on your application portal.
Issuing of admission and rejection notices
Once you have submitted your application by the deadline, along with all the necessary documents (and, for bachelor degree programmes with restricted admission, completed the selection procedure), you can expect to receive your admission or rejection letters for the bachelor degree programmes in the second week of August for the winter semester, or in late January/early February for the summer semester. These will inform you of how and by when you must complete your enrolment.
Please note that different dates may apply to bachelor degree programmes participating in the Dialogue-Oriented Service Procedure (DoSV).
For the master degree programmes, admission and rejection notifications are expected to be issued between the end of July and mid/late August for the winter semester, and between the end of January and mid/late February for the summer semester. These notifications will inform you of how and by when you must complete your enrolment.
Enrolment (online)
Enrolment takes place online by the deadline specified in the admission letter. The following steps must be completed within the specified timeframe after receiving the admission letter; otherwise, enrolment will not be possible:
- Uploading a photo (passport-sized) for your digital studentcard
- Confirmation of your application for enrolment (for the degree programme in which you wish to enrol)
- Upload the signed enrolment declaration and any documents that are still missing
- Payment of the total semester fee and any other fees, if applicable, should the degree programme be subject to fees (please refer to your admission letter for the total amount), is made via an ePayment system. Please follow the instructions on the PRIMUSS application portal regarding the ePayment procedure. If you do not have a Visa Card, MasterCard or PayPal account, please send an email to immatrikulation@hm.edu
- Requesting a digital notification of insurance status from the health insurance provider for the electronic registration process at the university
Provided you have completed the individual steps by the deadline, and the university has received the semester fee (plus, where applicable, the fee for a fee-paying degree programme) and your digital health insurance registration, final enrolment for the winter semester will take place from around the end of August and for the summer semester from around mid-February by the Student Counselling and Enrolment Centre.
Please bear with us whilst we process your enrolment application. Due to the large number of documents uploaded, this may take some time. If any documents are missing or incomplete, we will notify you via your application portal.
All further information is available exclusively via your PRIMUSS application portal. We therefore ask you to check the status of your enrolment regularly.
