Mentoring programme for international students (excluding Exchange Students)
HoMe – what is it?
HoMe (Hochschule München Mentoring) is a mentoring programme for international first-year students, designed to help you settle in at Hochschule München.
International first-year students (mentees) are paired with experienced students from higher years (mentors). The mentors answer general and specific questions about studies at Hochschule München. The mentors guide and support the mentees throughout their first semester.

| - You’ll meet lots of interesting people; - You will gain experience in the field of intercultural competence; - You will receive a reference for your work as a mentor. You will also need to attend a training session for mentors (before the start of the semester). There, you will learn everything you need to know about your role and receive a detailed schedule for your time as a mentor. - You will receive a small allowance during your time as a mentor - You can earn 3 ECTS credits for the University Certificate in Intercultural Competencehave academic credit transfer. | - You’ll get to know students from higher years; - You will find out who to contact if you have any questions about your studies (exams, block courses, lecture notes, funding); - You’ll receive tips and advice from experienced students in your department on how to organise and plan your studies at the university; - Your mentor will be on hand to offer advice and support if you have any questions during your first semester |
How do I become a mentor or mentee?
Your data will be used to match you with suitable mentors. Your email address will also be used to send you updates in the event of any changes. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(e) and (2) of the GDPR in conjunction with Article 4(1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG) and Section 60(1) of the Bavarian Higher Education Act (BayHSchG).
