AI Parkour at the Roter Würfel
Interactive forum for discussion and engagement highlights new approaches to creating an AI-competent university
11/06/2026
On 8 June 2026, the bauwerK! project hosted the 14th Dialogue Forum on ‘Generative AI and Higher Education’ in the foyer of the Roter Würfel at Lothstraße 64 at the HM. Entitled “AI Parkour”, participants were treated to an interactive exchange and engagement format featuring 20 stations exploring the use and development of artificial intelligence at the HM.
Individual routes through the AI landscape
The term “parkour” refers to moving creatively and efficiently from one point to the next. Instead of following predetermined paths, participants develop their own routes and repurpose existing spaces. This idea, proposed by students at the HM, formed the basis for the AI Parkour format. In keeping with this, participants were able to set their own priorities and explore the stations in whatever order they chose. The focus was on jointly exploring new paths towards an AI-competent university.
Actively experiencing AI At the stations, the approximately 150 participants were able to try out AI tools, learn about current and upcoming projects and initiatives, and discover practical examples of the use of AI in Teaching and examinations. Furthermore, the format provided space for discussion and engagement: What opportunities does AI open up for studies, teaching, research and administration? What challenges need to be taken into account? And what skills do university staff need to use AI responsibly and effectively?
The bauwerK!
project The AI Parkour also provided an insight into the work of the bauwerK! project. The aim of the project is to further develop HM into an AI-competent university. To this end, activities and expertise from all areas of the university are being brought together to embed artificial intelligence responsibly, effectively and sustainably in studies, teaching, research and administration.
The project is led by the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education and the MUC.DAI interdisciplinary school. Funding is provided from autumn 2025 until the end of 2029 by the Foundation for Innovation in Education.
