The DEFINE collaborative project focuses on research into and practical testing of a DC-based medium-voltage grid in the megawatt range. As the development of power converters in this voltage and power range involves considerable financial, spatial and time-related costs, it is difficult to test and validate the operating and control strategies of the medium-voltage grid in advance.
