A warm welcome to the RNE!
The Referat für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (RNE) (a student-led department for sustainable development) was set up by the student representation (StuVe). Here, students are working to ensure that sustainability at Hochschule München becomes second nature in all areas (teaching, organisation, research, operations and administration). We aim to raise awareness among everyone involved in shaping Hochschule München, and to motivate and inspire them to teach and practise sustainability themselves.
At regular meetings, RNE students work together in a self-organised manner to drive forward various ideas and projects aimed at making the HM ‘greener’. Different project teams are pursuing a wide variety of ideas, such as Ecosia on Campus or organising sustainability workshops.
Interested? Anyone who’d like to get involved or suggest topics is always very welcome to join us. If you have any questions or suggestions, just send us an email or message us on Instagram @referat_nachhaltigkeit.
Through our various projects, we at RNE are helping to establish a culture of sustainability at HM in the long term. We raise awareness. We inspire. We motivate. We encourage people to initiate and implement projects independently. We take a proactive approach to ensure that sustainability is embedded throughout the HM organisation.
The RNE is made up of students from all departments at Hochschule München. The department is headed by Tamara Scharpf (Dept 03).
The RNE consists of various core and project teams that drive a wide variety of ideas forward. For example:
Ecosia on Campus
Ecosia is an eco-friendly search engine from Germany that uses Microsoft’s search algorithms, allowing you to plant trees through your search queries. Ecosia has now been implemented as the default browser at HM.
Get involved by installing Ecosia on your personal devices via the link ecosia.com/hm and planting trees on behalf of HM through your search queries! You can find more information and instructions on the HM Ecosia link below. #noplanetB
We are always on the lookout for motivated and committed students who would like to get involved not only in our ongoing projects – such as the lecture series, the Public Climate School, campus design and many more – but also ‘behind the scenes’ at the RNE.
Why should you join our team?
- Project work within a young, motivated team
- The opportunity to take on personal responsibility
- Networking with students from other departments and Professors, as well as with other departments and universities
- Gaining knowledge about sustainability at the HM and in general
Everyone is very welcome here – if you’re interested, please feel free to email us or message us on Instagram @referat_nachhaltigkeit
