Our approach – co-creation and living labs
Genuine knowledge transfer requires new forms of collaboration. At HM:UniverCity, we focus on co-creation and the resulting ‘living labs’ to bring academia and practice together in a dynamic process.
Co-creation – the key to success
Co-creative solutions emerge more quickly, are better tested and can be applied in a more targeted manner. To facilitate co-creation in transdisciplinary processes, we use stakeholder mapping and management, as well as co-design and co-evaluation methods. We organise participation and co-creation to facilitate dialogue on an equal footing and to generate new knowledge and understanding. The solutions that emerge as a result can be successfully implemented on a long-term basis and replicated in other contexts.
We are constantly refining our co-creation approaches, with the scientific support of Professors from Hochschule München.
Living Labs – Experimental spaces for the future
To make the most of the potential offered by co-creation and to successfully put ideas into practice and ensure their long-term sustainability, we rely on living labs – real-world test environments. By designing simple prototypes, we bridge the gap between theory and practice. This enables us to explore innovations with various stakeholder groups, making them tangible and bringing them to life. Through immediate testing and continuous optimisation, we arrive more quickly at solutions that are both widely accepted and sustainable in the long term.
About us – our mission
We are part of the higher education ecosystem and work closely with Teaching and Research. HM:UniverCity sees itself as a central hub for co-creative knowledge and technology transfer.
Our mission is based on the following principles:
Accelerating Transformation, sharing knowledge: We actively support the development of new ideas and their implementation in practice.
Fostering
connections, creating open spaces: By creating open spaces, we encourage dialogue and collaboration between different stakeholders.
Strengthening
engagement, broadening perspectives: Our aim is to promote social engagement and to incorporate a diverse range of perspectives.
Creating
transparency and highlighting achievements: We place great importance on transparent processes and ensure that our shared achievements are visible to everyone.
Through these principles, we aim to contribute to the sustainable development of Hochschule München, strengthen our engagement with society, and accelerate change in the city of Munich and the wider region.
