Social Innovation Hub at Dept 11
HM:UniverCity supports the knowledge transfer activities of the Department of Applied Social Sciences
A key initiative of the Department of Applied Social Sciences (Dept 11) is the establishment of a Social Innovation Hub, which will serve as a hub for the research-based transfer of ideas, knowledge and technology in the social, education and health sectors. The fact that this initiative has been incorporated into the department’s and the university’s development plans demonstrates the long-term significance of this project.
A first milestone is the establishment of the innovation professorship in ‘Theory-Practice Transfer and Social Entrepreneurship’, headed by Professor Dr Annette Korntheuer. The aim is to bring together existing initiatives, to promote collaboration between the university, the (social) economy and society, and to create new transfer structures for the social and health care sectors.
As part of the “Let’s Talk About Transfer” series of events, Dept 11, in collaboration with HM:UniverCity, is organising a participatory process in which, as a community of practice, sustainable structures for practice alliances and innovation processes are identified. HM:UniverCity is contributing its extensive expertise in co-creation and multi-stakeholder processes to promote sustainable knowledge transfers between academia and practice.
