Insights from XR practice: A podcast as a teaching resource for mixed reality
Motivation
Mixed reality is a highly dynamic field; the technology, applications and research are all evolving rapidly. That is why, alongside my structured teaching materials, I wanted to incorporate the latest insights from research and industry into my teaching: in the form of a podcast that students listen to before the face-to-face session and whose content they then critically apply to their own projects.
Effect
"Students come into contact with relevant experts who talk about their latest developments and research. In doing so, they also learn to contextualise external knowledge, to consider and question the differing opinions of established experts in relation to one another, and to apply this knowledge to their own projects. At the same time, open educational resources are created that can be used beyond the scope of the module: for other courses, degree programmes and anyone else who is interested."
