Why do robots make mistakes?

Robots are not yet able to adapt spontaneously to disruptive factors such as obstacles, fluctuating light conditions or noise. Artificial intelligence enables them to learn from their mistakes and thus cope with new situations. Professor Ruth Otto from the Department of Applied Sciences and Mechatronics at Hochschule München is conducting research into this topic.
