Health, pension and accident insurance
Health insurance
(In accordance with the provisions of SGB V and the Federal Association of Health Insurance Funds.)
All students are, in principle, required to be covered by statutory health insurance. Every admission candidate must therefore provide the university with proof, prior to enrolment, that they are covered by statutory health insurance or will be covered from the start of the semester – at the earliest from the date of enrolment – or that they are not covered by statutory health insurance because they are exempt from insurance, have been exempted from the obligation to take out insurance, or are not subject to compulsory insurance.
The admission candidate must request proof of their insurance status from their health insurance provider, which the provider will then send directly to the university via the electronic registration system! It is not possible to undertake enrolment without providing proof of health insurance!
If you change your health insurance provider during your studies, you must also submit proof of this from your new health insurance provider to Hochschule München via the electronic registration procedure.
Proof of insurance cover must also be resubmitted by the health insurance provider to the university if the student changes degree programme within the university.
Pension insurance
Along with their diploma or bachelor degree certificate (certifying graduation from Hochschule München), every student receives a certificate confirming the periods during which they attended the university for the purposes of statutory pension insurance.
This certificate must be submitted to the relevant pension insurance institution when the insurance card is reissued.
Accident insurance / Accident report
During their theoretical semesters, students are covered by accident insurance provided by the Bavarian State Accident Insurance Fund (statutory accident insurance).
Accident insurance cover applies only to accidents that occur on school premises, during authorised excursions, or whilst travelling to or from school to accommodation. Accidents must be reported immediately via PRIMUSS Online Services .
During the practica semesters, students are, by law, insured against accidents at work with the employers’ liability insurance association responsible for the training company or training institution. In the event of an insured incident, the company must complete the accident report. A copy of the accident report must be sent to Hochschule München.
