Study modules individually
Earn a university certificate through a module-based programme: Some modules from the Master’s programme in Engineering Acoustics can be studied individually and completed with a university certificate. Should you later decide to enrol on the Master’s programme, you can receive academic credit transfer for successfully completed modules towards your master's degree. The module courses are standard courses within the master's degree programme and therefore guarantee professional training at an academic level. Are you interested in taking a module course? Which modules can be studied individually?
Management and Contract Law
Gain an overview of all aspects of organising, implementing and evaluating projects. In addition, this module will introduce you to selected business topics and provide an introduction to the fundamentals of contract law. The aim is to enable you to assess contracts from the perspective of a project engineer.
Low-noise design and sound insulation
In this module, you will examine the principles and calculation of secondary and primary noise reduction measures. You will be introduced to the fundamentals of noise generation in machinery, plant and vehicles, as well as sound radiation, and will learn about design options that can prevent or reduce noise pollution in the environment and in the workplace during the development stage of machinery, plant, equipment and products.
Vehicle acoustics and traffic noise
More than almost any other economic good, cars are characterised by both rational and emotional factors. This module focuses on the specific characteristics of vehicles as sources of interior noise.
Simulation methods in acoustics
In this module, you will explore the numerical simulation of sound fields in liquids and gases, as well as in solid structures, and standardised noise exposure prediction calculations. This is because the early-stage analysis of the dynamic and acoustic behaviour of products, for example, is an important part of the virtual development process.
Admission and fees for a modular course of study
The entry requirements and the documents to be submitted are the same as those for the master's degree in Engineering Acoustics. The same applies to the conditions for attendance and examinations. During the semester, you will be enrolled at Hochschule München.
Enrolment on a module-based course in engineering acoustics is subject to a fee. The cost is 980 euros per module, plus semester fees. The fees are calculated in accordance with the schedule of fees for the award of module certificates. (available in German only)
