2022: City, Country, Future
Final results
The cross-faculty teaching project “ZukunftGestalten@HM” will focus on the theme of ‘City, Country, Future’ during the summer semester of 2022.
More and more people are being drawn to the cities. More and more people are flocking to the countryside at the weekend. There is a shortage of flats in the cities and house prices are skyrocketing. In the countryside, town centres are becoming deserted and vacant properties are no longer a rarity. It feels as though there is always too much traffic, everywhere. The high demand for resources and energy shows no sign of abating. Shop shelves that are constantly restocked and online portals that are always open continue to encourage consumption. At the same time, we don’t know what to do with our unwanted possessions.
What might a shared, liveable future for urban and rural areas look like? How can we ensure an equal quality of life? What might the future look like in both places? What kind of future do we want to shape?
ZukunftGestalten@HM 2022 began on 17 March. The public closing event took place on 30 June.
We would like to thank the students for their innovative ideas and results, and for their collaboration with our practice partners!
