Course programme
The general range of training courses is open to all international doctoral candidates. It also includes a number of courses taught in English, such as Scientific Writing. In addition, there are courses specifically tailored to the needs of international doctoral candidates.
International doctoral candidates who wish to learn German or improve their basic knowledge of the language can attend the German as a Foreign Language courses run by Dept 13.
The rooms and times are listed in the course catalogue.
Enrolment: Those interested are asked to contact the lecturer for the relevant course by email and to attend the course room on the first day of lessons. There is no formal enrolment process.
Support and practical tips
Right of residence and recognition of qualifications
The Human Resources Department assists international doctoral candidates in clarifying their right of residence.
In addition, the Human Resources Department advises international graduates who wish to come to HM to pursue a doctorate and have questions regarding the recognition of their degree.
Graduate School
Our Graduate School is the point of contact for all international doctoral candidates coming to HM to undertake their doctorate or for a temporary stay. We provide information about events and are happy to offer individual advice. We also arrange for ‘buddies’ to help you settle in at HM and act as a personal point of contact for minor day-to-day queries. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer assistance with finding accommodation.
