Alumni
Even after you have completed your studies at Hochschule München, we are still here to help. The alumni team can advise you on who to contact at HM if you have lost your degree certificate, need proof of student status for pension insurance purposes, cannot find your certificate of withdrawal from the university, require documents to be certified, and much more.
Pension certificate
Have you studied at Hochschule München and now need to provide proof of your period of study to the pension insurance provider? When you deregister from Hochschule München, you receive an will additional certificate . This form, which states the start date, duration and degree awarded or date of deregistration, serves as proof for the pension insurance provider.
If you require a new certificate, we will be happy to assist you. You may have received Form V0510 from the German Pension Insurance scheme. If not, you can also download it from the German Pension Insurance website. Please complete at least the first section of form V0510 (personal details) yourself. You can send the pre-completed form to the enrolment office by post or by email:
Hochschule München, Sachgebiet Beratung/Immatrikulation
Lothstraße 34
80335 Munich
Email
We will complete Form V0510 in full on your behalf and return it to you by post or by email. There is no charge for issuing a certificate of enrolment. Processing will take approximately one week.
Certificate of Withdrawal/Certificate of Academic Progress
Are you no longer a student at Hochschule München and can’t find your certificate of withdrawal or academic transcript? Please contact the staff in the Examination and Internship department by email and provide the following information:
- Your name (maiden name, if applicable)
- Date of birth
- Degree programme
- Degree and year of graduation
- Your current address
A duplicate copy of your certificate of withdrawal will be sent to you by email. There is no charge for issuing this document. It will take approximately one week to process.
Certification of a degree certificate and diploma
Certificates and diplomas can be certified by the Citizens’ Offices in Munich or by the relevant local authorities (town halls). Hochschule München (HM) can also certify certificates and diplomas issued by HM for a fee. To do this, you must bring the original and, if possible, a copy.
You can find more information here .
Lost school leaving certificate and diploma
Have you misplaced your degree certificate ? Can’t find your degree diploma ? Hochschule München will be happy to issue you with a duplicate of your certificate or diploma. There is a fee for this service. In addition to paying the fee by bank transfer, you will also need to provide a written statutory declaration by post or email, along with your current address.
Please email pruefung-internship@hm.edu .
You can also find further information here .
Conversion of marks
If you wish to submit an application for a job abroad, you may need to have your degree recognised and your grades converted to the grading system used in the country in question. To this end, Hochschule München has issued you with a Diploma Supplement to accompany your degree. If this proves insufficient, we are unfortunately unable to assist you further. Requirements vary from country to country and, in some cases, from one job to another. Unfortunately, you will need to carry out your own research.
Possible places to turn to include, for example:
- The Federal Foreign Office
- National Information Centres for Recognition
- EU - A means of comparing different national qualifications
- Guidance on converting marks for the USA

Recognition of a degree
If you wish to work abroad, you may need to have your university degree officially recognised. For example, you may be required to have all your degree documents certified by Hochschule München and sent directly to a certification body. One such certification body could be, for example, WES.
If this applies to you, please contact the relevant contact persons in the Examination and Internship department directly.
Old module handbooks
Do you need old module handbooks, for example, for your application for a master's degree programme at another university? If so, please contact your former department directly. They may still have some old module handbooks available.
For degree programmes for which framework study regulations are still in force, interested parties may consult folders containing examination regulations – which have been sent to the Library of the Hochschule München by the Student Services Office – during the designated opening hours of the Library. The originals may be photocopied or scanned on site; for legal reasons, it is not possible to send them by post or email.
Retrospective issue of a Transcript of Records
Along with your degree certificate and diploma, you will also receive a Diploma Supplement containing a standardised description of higher education qualifications, details of the degree programme, the course content, your overall examination result and a relative grade, all in English. However,
if you require a so-called ‘Transcript of Records’ – for example, for an application for a master's degree programme abroad – please contact the relevant contact person for your degree programme in the Examination and Internship
department.
Please note that in some cases, it is not possible for HM to issue such a transcript. In this case, you will need to have your degree certificate translated by a state-recognised translation service yourself!
