Research Presentation: Rhetoric, Structure and Delivery in Conference Talks & Poster Sessions (elective module)

This workshop equips doctoral candidates and scientific staff with essential presentation techniques for international conferences and poster sessions.
04.06.2025 - 06.06.2025
A great scientific conference presentation or posters session does more than share data — it convinces the audience that your research matters. To make an impact, your message must be clear, convincing, and easy to follow. You´ll explore different formats for conference talks and poster presentations to balance the key elements that engage and persuade your audience:
- A logical, persuasive argument
- Your credibility as a speaker
- Memorable key messages
- Effective strategies for handling the Q&A
You will learn how to structure your talk, apply rhetorical techniques, and design slides that reinforce your message. Through hands-on practice, you will deliver short presentations, receive focussed feedback, and refine your delivery for maximum impact.

- Creating strong openings and conclusions
- Using body language and voice to connect with your audience
